Cumin-spiced filo rolls with Västerbotten cheese® and currants. This recipe is developed by Caroline i Köket in collaboration with Västerbottensost®
4 sheets of chilled filo dough, about 30×40 cm
about 4 tablespoons of melted butter
whole caraway seeds
flake salt
3 tablespoons kesella
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground cumin seeds
about 1 cup scratched red currants
The recipe yields 16 pcs of filo rolls
Start with the filling: Mix Västerbottensost, kesella and cumin.
The rolls: Preheat the oven to 225 degrees.
Cover the filo dough with a damp kitchen towel and it will not dry.
Divide each filo sheet into four pieces.
Place about 2 tablespoons of filling Västerbottensost along one short side of each piece of dough.
Distribute the currants over.
Wrap the edges of the long sides and roll up into rolls.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Brush with melted butter.
Gently sprinkle with whole cumin seeds and flake salt.
Bake in the middle of the oven until the rolls are brittle and have beautiful color, about 10 minutes.
