These pickled apples can be eaten cold or hot. Also perfect as an accompaniment to game dishes.
8 firm, tart apples
3 shallots, sliced
6 star anise
3 bay leaves
4 sprigs of thyme, preferably back thyme
1 cup acetic liquor 12%
2 cups raw sugar
3 dl water
Pickled apples with bay leaves and star anise
Bring the ingredients to a boil for the teams.
Divide the apples into larger wedges.
Alternate apple, onion and spices in a clean jar and pour on the hot law.
Close the jar directly with a tight-fitting lid.
Leave in the refrigerator at least 3 days before serving.
The apples can be eaten cold or hot.
Perfect as an accompaniment to game dishes.
