Jansson’s temptation with Västerbottensost is perfect for the Christmas table or Midsummer and Easter!
100-200 g anchovy fillet
1 kg of potatoes, solid variety
2 pcs yellow onions, large
4 tablespoons butter
3 dl Västerbottensost®, grated
1 cup milk
2 pinch white pepper
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
2 cups whipped cream
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Jansson’s temptation with Västerbottensost®
Pour off the spade from the anchovy and save half.
Peel and cut the potatoes into thin rods.
Slice the onion and sauté it in a skillet with 2 tablespoons of butter until it becomes soft.
Alternate potatoes, onions, 2.5 cups Västerbotten cheese and anchovies in a greased ovenproof dish.
The first and last layer should be potatoes.
Mix anchovy spade, milk and white pepper and pour it over the potatoes.
Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, 0.5 dl Västerbottensost and click over the rest of the butter.
Bake in the lower part of the oven about 1 hour.
After 30 minutes, dilute with the cream.
When serving, sprinkle with parsley.
