Västerbottensost® is a gritty, flavorful, hard cheese made from northern cow’s milk. The cheese is stored for at least 14 months to achieve its unique taste. In the middle bite, you can sometimes notice crackling, white crystals, then you know that the cheese has been stored for a long time! The cheese has been made since 1872 and can only be made at the small dairy in Burträsk. Västerbottensost® is a Royal Purveyor and a unique piece of Swedish food history.
